Specializing in daily fresh baked Portuguese bread, Antonio S.
Miller opened this local bakery on Pike Street in 1921.
In 1940, his son Antonio F. Miller took over the reins. Tony
kept the tradition of baking fresh Portuguese bread daily and
added Portuguese sweet bread as well as pastry & donuts to the
menu.
Upon his retirement in the 1980’s, his niece, JoAnn Furtado
opened “JoAnn’s Bakery”. With the help of her family, JoAnn
continued to carry on the tradition of baking fresh bread and
pastry daily. “JoAnn’s Bakery” continues to use the “original”
recipes for our famous pork pies and Portuguese sweet bread that
have been passed down from Uncle Tony.
Today, “JoAnn’s Bakery” is operated by her son Steven Furtado
and remains a family run business. We insist on using quality
ingredients & providing quality service. We continue to bake
Portuguese bread daily as well as Italian & Sicilian bread along
with a large variety of pastries and calzones.
